Thanks to Aunt Jennifer and Sheila for the greeting cards at every stop.  I actually never got around to visiting the post office at Roan Mountain, but I had all my mail forwarded to Daleville so I got both cards Saturday.

  1. I think I’m going to send a letter with your dad, as you know how terrible I am at mailing things. I think I also have the memory card from the camera to send, but will have to double-check. That way you’ll have some photos of me with you, and they won’t weigh you down. :P Olive and I are having a nice weekend at your parents’ place. Your mom made her chicken tortilla soup and two different types of cupcakes. Yummy. I feel closer to you, being here. Still miss you bunches, though, and am looking forward to September.

  2. Hey Pink Floyd!

I’m glad to read that you’re still on the trail, hope you’re knee is doing better.
I’ at 898 at the moment, at Gimlis place, he lives near the trail and we’re doing a near-o after doing 35(!) miles yesterday. In your face, Floyd :-)
I hope you’re having a good time and that you’ll catch up some day…
I guess you’re in waynesboro at the moment and i tell you, you can really look forward to the Shenandoahs, because its FLAT! “Virginia is flat” finally makes sense!
Keep on walking…Hope to see ya soon!

    1. Hey Handstand! Glad to hear from you. I’m sure I’ll catch up someday, but it may be awhile (especially if you’re doing 30s). I’ve been keeping tabs on you via the registers, but I’m glad you found this blog so you know I’m still here. My dad’s getting into Waynesboro tomorrow morning and he’s hiking with me through the Shenandoahs, so I’m glad to hear it’s easy terrain. I’m staying at the church hostel tonight, and since it’s Wednesday they fed me spaghetti for dinner! It’s pretty nice. My dad’s bringing me new sandals and *finally* a 40-degree bag. So glad to be rid of that 20-degree bag.

  3. Hey, Andrew! I’m glad your dad was able to catch you and do his little hiking! I sent a card to you at Waynesboro but maybe it didn’t make it in time. Maybe you can have it forwarded. I check out your blog every day and am always glad when you’ve posted again. Love, Aunt Jen
