First mail drop

I just spent a week at Holly’s and now we’re back at my parents’ and I’m getting everything wrapped up.  We’re leaving tomorrow morning to start the road trip to Forest Service Road 42, which has an intersection with the AT at 34º38’15.43″N 84º11’43.10″W, and is a 1.1-mile hike to the peak of Springer Mountain (there is no road to the peak of Springer).  After dropping me off, my parents are taking Holly to Atlanta’s airport where she’ll catch a plane to Tampa to visit friends.  Myself, I’ll be hiking.

Anyway, the main reason for this post is to announce that I’ve decided on my first definite town stop, which will be Franklin, NC.  That’s where I’m sending my bounce-box, so I’ll definitely be at that post office.  If anyone wants to send care packages, that’s your first opportunity.  Any packages should be addressed to the following:

Please hold for AT hiker

  1. Andrew — Please let me know what is best for me to send and how much you would like for me to send. I will be sending frequent care packages as often as I can, but I would like to know what works best for you, what you can use– and anything that you would just like to be there (besides Holly) when you get to your next stop. (She has declined to fit herself in a tiny box for days).
